Who gives a fuck if they take everything??? I mean honestly if you're so mad about it then try releasing your map with a licence that says "AlterRev cannot use this". Every map I have seen so far has been released with NO license whatsoever so they have every right to use it with their client. Go complain to someone who cares.

Since NTA Obviously doesn't care (he would have done something by now if he really did) then there isn't anything you can do to stop them because everyone was naive and thought no one would try to steal all our work so we just put it out in the public domain and this is what we get... now stop bitching and get over it.

You cannot release any game map under any type of license(at least not commercial licenses)first of all because the game files used in it does not belong to you, they belong to Activision and/or idSoftware(iw4m uses Quake3 engine code for some features, like server list). The big problem of 4D1 is not that its open source, it problem is that, even being an open source project, the license has not been applied as it should and this led into a lot of problems. One of it problems is the comunnity: a lot of users think that an open source project can not be used by other team to make their own game service, its a project based on open source code, so this is not steal, like everyone says. Also, aRev has stated so many times that the M2 code is based on IW4M code, and the official aRev GitHub repo, in its readme, states the same, thing that a lot of people seem to miss.
