1. Download and Install Notepad ++ and Gamebooster, "Gamebooster is optional but highly recommended"

2. Go Inside your MW3 directory

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 3\players2

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 3\players2

 

3. Once inside the players2 folder look for a file called "config_mp.cfg"

4. Double Click on "config_mp.cfg", A pop up should say windows can not open this file, You will have 2 options make sure to check off "Select a program from a list of installed programs" then click ok

 

5. By default the recommended programs should be Notepad and Notepad ++ if not add them manually by clicking browse, it should either be in your

C:\Program Files\Notepad++

C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++

Now look for notepad ++.exe and click open, untick "always use the selected program to open this file" then click ok.

 

6. Notepad ++ will then open up the cfg file, Scroll down till you find a line code callled "seta cl_maxPing"

go one line above that and hit enter, now insert this line of code "seta cl_maxpackets "100"

7. Go to file and save "NOT SAVE AS.."

 

Next this is optional but open Game booster

 

1. Click the add+ button and locate for the "LaunchIW5M.exe" inside your mw3 directory, click on it then click open

2. Now highlight LaunchiW5m.exe in game booster and click boost&launch

 

Now you should not have those annoying lag spikes

well im retarded and i find notepad very cluttered so ill stick with my notepad ++ and you can stick with notepad
