If by removing hostname colors you mean on the server list, that's a bad idea. When I am playing with my friend to help him find the server we want to play on I tell him to search via name then look for the color of the server's name.

note 'curses' which means the console based version of the dedicated server - nothing to do with the actual server list on the client.
