Second Client for Offline/LAN-Purpose

Since Teknogods isnt that professional, as we would like them to be and NTA proved his skills many times now, i would like to let the community choose about a second option for playing IW5M in places where internet is not avaiable or to difficult to get it there.

 

I had a little argue with NTA about this and cuz two opinions are not enough for a judgement, i would like to give you all the possibility of showing interest.

 

This is NOT a request or a try to force this "second client".

It shall be a reminder for the development team to get it onto their roadmap sometime.

PS: The offline-client would use own stats and unlocks to prevent online-boosting and stuff.

NTA should focus on other things, but later - why not?

 

He is a good guy. But iam afraid, that there is a trend growing up within the players community that LAN should be abandoned. This is only a test to see if they want no more LAN. But it seems that the true opposite is happening.

 

I just want to make sure, that it wont be forgotten. ;)

Original LaunchIW5M for Online and a second one for the Offline-mode.

But if both could be fusioned into one client.. okay.

Nice Idea, or maybe LauchIW5MOffline?? (doesn't need login and internet connection)

 

I strongly agree with the implement of the LAN feature

- There is already a LAN tab in the server list.

- No more very high ping.

- Don't care about terrible unstable internet connection.

- Smoother gameplay (more enjoyable when you paly with friends or relatives)

- No more "Lost Connection to host" / "Server Connection timed out".

So yes I really wish NTA adds this feature in some later time.

But NTВґs staff could do it way better than Teknogods ;)

At least they wouldnt paint big red "TeknoMW3" all over the program...

4D1 focuses on Multiplayer to provide better modding and dedicated server support.

Singleplayer is not supported atm. Maybe later. Or never.

Join 300 people on a LAN party like I do and see the routers crashing like I do. Then you'll realize the need of LAN mode.

Most of the LANs don't even have internet connection. And the ones who have just have a connection made for that weekend, wich always go down too often because it was installed on a rush.

The current stability situation is another point which stands for a LAN-client.

The server is crashing from time to time and you cant login anymore..

Also this "Disconnected from Steam" is another phenomenon, but there is no Steam running at all :D
