"add game" on steam and add IW5M will it detect its not a legal copy or will it be okay and ill still be able to play online???

Nothing at all will happen other than it adding the game to your list so you can run it directly via steam.

That's not completely applied yet, so it is kind of dependent on chance, the friend list doesn't really do anything though.

Steam recognize it like an original (I have original) and friends list is visible alos if you add it as non steam game it will work without any problems (tested)! Feel free to try!

friendlist will be visible, but you won't be able to join game sessions in progress anyway.
