IВґm wondering what the next revision (r22) will contain.

Since there hasnВґt been any update since several weeks.

 

Will it be a big update ? I know that NTA is working on the TNet-Service aswell.

Maybe it will be an implementing patch or sth else ?

Any news ?

Whoa, thats some serious issues. Okay thats a reason for sure.

He announced some big projects (like bots and stuff) indeed.

 

Then i hope he gets some rest. He deserved it already ;)

So that the OP could look at the answer, and post his response. Also, why should they lock after it has been answered? Other questions relating the new update could also be placed here, instead of spamming the forums with threads.

Alright, just wanted some sort of info regarding it as from the screenshots it looked NTA got really far on the project;although that was only the web UI, don't know about game links etc.

Yup, NTA should take a nice long break and come back when he is better. (Only issue is, if NP server fails, everybody is screwed :S)

LOL. I think Mr. NTAuthority will agree with me. LAN is used by about 50 people and isn't worth the effort.

About 1-2 hours of coding. Auth removal, compiling another launcher. profit.

If i would know C++/C# I would do this myself.. so what.

For NTA or one of his team members the effort is not that big like you think.

 

And no. It wont be used by "50 people". The cry for LAN is big. Since MW2 its more and more growing because more developers abandon it without any proper reason. Their reason is "piracy". Bullshit!

 

Starcraft 2, Battlefield BC2, Battlefield 3, MW2, MW3, Diablo 3.

All without LAN, but the community wants it to work offline. Like its meant to be! Like it ever was!

Just some more examples:

 

Here in Germany: NorthCon - one of the biggest Counter-Strike (old LAN-game hi) events

USA: PALan

 

Then these ESL EPS events and World Cyber Games. Most of them used LAN-ability to compete against each other. They have GBit-connections though, but they played most games offline in StarCraft and CS 1.5 back then. Even Steam has an offline mode to play CS 1.6 offline.

No one undermined the LAN, and it should be implemented, but I would suggest you tell that to NTA when he gets better.

 

He knows the suggestion already.

But i dont want to punch it into his face.

He should consider doing it sometimes and not by force.

I just dont want to come up respectless with my idea..

 

And furthermore iam talking about an Offline-working multiplayer.

Not about the possibility of playing on a LAN dedicated server while connected to the NPServer.

That wouldnt be a real LAN function...

 

I miss those times, when playing games at home with friends WITHOUT internet was so easy.

And online was optional. Today its mandatory and no one knows anymore what a LAN is.

Especially those stupid kids with computers and internet from their parents or even worse with a xBox.

"What is LAN? OHMAIGAWD HAX". I hate it.

And thats another reason why Battlefield (an really oldschool-LAN game with its own culture -> Battlefield 1942 was legend) has no LAN anymore. EA just knows that their customers are too young and dumb to miss a LAN-mode, because they never knew it. Thats really sad.

I also guess making this stuff run would require some heavy servers...

 

Anyway I just hope we'll be able to run DLCs in future rev because well I want this Offshore stuff badly :twisted:
