Okay so, for me, I'm not sure if it's for others, IW5M sometimes is working and sometimes isn't working. I mean, sometimes it's stuck on Connection to Online Services, and sometimes it just instantly works. I know that the soultion is to update the windows internet time, but it didn't help. So in short,IW5M sometimes is working and sometimes isn't working. Whats the solution and why is it like that?

If MW3 is stuck on "Conneting to online services..." just restart game 1 or 2 times, should help. Check your connection by the way and delete cashes.xml (always helps <3)

Try updating your time to another location, as my guide also has an explanation for.

That windows time fix is just for "connecting" to a game server issue.

I haven't quite founbd a solution for that issue since I never got on a computer with that problem. But I heard rumors here on the forum that deleting config_mp.cfg from players2 folder might fix it. You won't lose nothing in trying.

It means you have to identify the installed firewalls on Windows. Disable or uninstall the third party firewall. Allow the IW5m files through the Default Windows Firewall.

 

Now for the issue, yes it indeed is misbehaving sometimes. Sometimes it wont even go further from splash screen. And I am not talking about 1-2 PCs. It randomly happens on all the 6 of us. The issues from the very beginning are:

1. Hangs on Splash screen - You have to kill it and again start it. Sometimes you have to do it twice.

2. Connecting to online services... - You have to restart once and it is through. Occasionally after doing it twice, when it doesnt get through, you have to log off Windows and back in.

3. Connection to C'D servers lost..... and Disconnected from Steam while playing - This also happens quite occasionally, and hence the Classes, Ranks get reset to the last played ones.

Recently..

1. After the 30th September, when the "Electronics were down", the game has started crashing randomly. However, it has happened very rarely on random PCs.

 

But I am in no mood to discuss the issues at this moment. NTA needs to remain away from all these chores for sometime now, as he has exerted himself quite enough and needs mental rest to get back his lost mental equilibrium

 

PS: The above mentioned misbehaviours are still manageable. It is understandable to get these kind of small issues in huge network gaming. I have always admired NTAs work-of-un-matched efficiency, and the way he has managed single handedly (as far as coding is concened), this MonsterWar'are.

Windows time is only an issue when connecting to game servers. Not when "connecting to online services".

We're yet to identify the cause of the problem since we couldn't reproduce the error yet on any computer that we can get our hands on, to study that specific problem.

Not working, I tried everything EVERYTHING! Nothing worked. It worked only in the morning. Only in the morning untill mid-noon it works for me and after that it just doesn't work or rarely in the night times.

Ok, I finally found the cause of "connecting to online services" problem.

Today I got here 3 computers, and one of those had that issue.

After some tests, I found out that the issue happened whenever port 3074 was blocked on windows firewall (it was the only firewall affecting that computer in the whole system/network).

After creating an inbound rule for port 3074 (both TCP and UDP) the game worked without problems (connecting to online serices for a few seconds and then straight to the serverlist).

Whenever I removed either TCP ou UDP rule, the problem would come back.

 

So, the fix for that issue is to create firewall rules for port 3074 (both TCP and UDP) on whatever firewall that you may have on your system.

It didn't help! I made a new rule at inbound, for port 3074, but it didn't help. Both of the types.

The problem has been properly identified already. If it's not windows firewall, then it may be some anti-virus firewall, or even router firewall.

Port 3074 (both TCP and UDP) have to be allowed on any firewall that affects your computer.

What the hell is a Router Firewall? And where can I find it on Windows? I got winodws 7, and no I do not have an Anti-Virus.

Hmm. It seems that after I did all the firewall stuff and restarteded the computer, MW3 connected at the end of waiting, after that I re-joined about 3 or 4 times, and it almost instantly connected. So I guess problem has been solved!

You were experiencing a problem to wich nobody was being able to give a solution for.

Like I said, all that it was needed was for some of us here to get the hands on a computer with that problem, to figure out the cause and the fix. And that only happened yesterday.

Anyway, glad that it worked and that we have one problem less to worry with
