Today’s Call of Duty news is not so much news as it is a case of over reaction hyper sensitive nonsense. Infinity Ward, the developers behind the “Modern Warfare” series has gone and done something rather ridiculous. They have removed the map “Favela” from the play list in Modern Warfare 2. Reason being, a Youtube video was released claiming religious insensitivity toward Muslims.

 

Apparently, a Muslim gamer has been offended by a picture frame hanging on the wall of a bathroom in one of the buildings included in the map “Favela.” Yes, you heard that correct. The picture frame in question has the Arabic term “Allah is beautiful and he loves beauty.” The “scandal” comes into effect when you look at the location of the picture frame: Above the toilet. This Islamic sin has apparently caused such uproar that the entire map has been removed from the play list rotation.

Your server, your rules. Nobody can remove a certaim map from your dedi. That is, if original IW4 supported dedis. The specific comment praises the ability to play on dedis over 4D1 with which IW has nothing to do with.

Can't they just issue new version of the map as free DLC (inb4 they charge for it) and keep the old one removed from the server rotation.

We are also working to remove the texture from Modern Warfare 2 through a separate Title Update.

 

AFAIK, they can easily include a new .IWD containing the edited texture in an update. And if they can't, why wouldn't they simply place a model or something to block the texture?

It's true, I mean if something is made already [islamic insult or the like], and it can't be fixed, I won't cry about it. You've sinned and that's your problem, if I try and protest about it, it's not gonna work because this is how media [gaming, whatever] is now, but the problem is that these freaking 12 year olds that have little awareness seem to get butthurt about seeing something wrong. Grow up, it's the 21st century, not much is gonna change a lot of people's views. If you are butthurt, revert to Battlefield, WOW, LoL etc. Play something else that doesn't effect you.
