afaik even free spectating is fully serverside

I done this once before by accident, I had made a 'trails' like mod for people with VIP and experimenting. I used some flare fx and made it where you could press your action slot 3 key and it would do an infinite loop which would spawn the effect at your origin, and I was messing around and I went into spectator (at the time didn't make it endon death or check if you were alive) and toggled it, and everywhere I moved across the map it would make the light/flare appear. Just to say it's possible, with an effect or as spawning a model.
