Hey, uhh. I'm having problems connecting to my own server. I'm hosting it on my home server (Fiber Optic). All ports are open (DMZ). I also did a static internal IP on my home server so it won't change. Even my friends is stuck at the "Connecting..." menu/dialog box/whatever it is called. It is normal or port problem

 

~ NOTE: I did the command connect 192.168.1.146:28964 to connect to my server.

Servers with the name "Hazard Clan" is mine. I have no problems connecting to my own IW4M servers.

IW5M uses a diffrent port though

In IW5M, the game port is defined by "net_queryPort" command (not "net_port")

Try:

connect 192.168.1.146:27015

I get "Not logged in" message eon the console

Which port did you add on your shortcut ? I think you also add it on your server.cfg.

Now that I'm taking a closer look at the console output... that's trying to use Steam type rcon console instead of IW5M client console...

Delete cahces.xml and run the game with LaunchIW5M.exe

Then see if it works already.

FleX Hazard, the problem is not with the server. The problem is with the client's console.

It's trying to send the commands through rcon, instead of assuming it as client commands.

I can only assume that happened due to some Steam update. Delete cahces.xml and run the game with LaunchIW5M.exe

Should fix it.

I did delete caches.xml and launch LaunchIW5M.exe. It downloaded some files on the 1st try. It launches the game on the 2nd try.

Oh yeah, I did mentioned that my friends can't connect to my server. They are stuck at Connecting. Maybe my router also having problems?

Connecting... is a common issue now. Ask your friends to sync their internet time or restart the game (that always works for me).

Oh there you are. Told sufi hacks to do that but no luck. The reason he called himself "sufi hacks" is because noobs/tryhards always accuse him hacking lol. I feel for him.

 

UPDATE: Switched routers to the one that my ISP gave (D-Link DIR-615). I was using an ASUS RT-N 10+ with DD-WRT installed. Not sure if people can or cannot connect to my IW5M Server

"connecting" issue can be caused either by the clients or the server's windows time or router time.

the server's time is 1 hour late than my time. maybe that is causing it?

If you and the server are in different time zones, then it's ok.

It worked for the past 20 minutes and I left my server to disable team-kill plugin. When I tried to join my server, I got stuck again on the Connecting... dialog box. I did tried to run the game as administrator but no luck. Mayse my firewall is blocking the connection? I'm using COMODO Firewall.

I don't think Comodo blocks connections randomly before you add any new rule or didn't answered a connection dialog but you can check this with fallow this path:

Double click Comodo tray icon -> Firewall -> View Firewall Events. Now, you can see Comodo blocked what & when. Also, if you right click Comodo tray icon and select Game Mode; Comodo doesn't ask what to do and doesn't blocks your connections.

 

For console connection fix, you can check/double check & try this:

Check IW5M status (Server online or offline.)

Check your local ip again. (Your local ip can be change.)

Check your connection port on modem/router and on server.cfg.

Close game and reopen. (If server online and i stuck Connecting... screen; works for me.)

Restart your modem/router.

Restart your pc.

One last thing: %99.9 can not be related this problem but i wanted to add. If you're using PeerBlock; disable. Can cause connection problems for a host and for a player.

Thanks for the tips! BTW, it is fixed. All i have to do is restart the game when It's not connecting.
