Every video tutorial i see in youtube is with Win 7.So how do i freaking make iw4m launch on my skidrow copy of MW2?

Firstly my game isnt in steamapps, and i dont have such a folder either, so i cant really copy the files there...

Can u please help asap?

Go to your MW2 Folder first, Then download IW4M Client from here

http://iw4.prod.fourdeltaone.net/bootst ... ponent.zip

Extract it to your MW2 folder and launch it and follow the instructions.Once you are done installing it,download the MW2 DLC's which can be obtained by typing "AlterIW repo" in Google...

Then when you are ready to play just run "LaunchIW4M.exe"

why would you use the launchcomponent manually rather than using the recommended method, apart from whatever idiot wrote the 'download links' topic completely ignoring the installation utility (and AFAIK it's the same idiot who linked IW5 DLC from the home page, while that's OBVIOUSLY not intended)?

I use the manual installation too, because itВґs better. I had some issues with the recommened version (two m2demo folders, I could only use the %localappdata%/iw4m/m2demo one and so on...)

do tell why it's 'better'

both the m2demo in the game path and the one in the IW4M directory are added to the game filesystem; as such you can use both. in addition, what's wrong with not modifying the game folder?

your point is invalid, so do explain your 'and so on...'

I am a guy, who needs the most and important files in the rootgamefolder..

This was only a set phrase.

cool, so you presumably do development of the base files (i.e. data outside of the mods/ structure)?

wait, I doubt that.

why do you need those files?

Опубликовано:

No, you didnВґt understand me or I explained it not perfectly:

For me itВґs better, when I have all the files, which are needed to run the game, in one folder and not splitted up 2 folders.

so you also install portable versions of all your other software?

Опубликовано:

Nope. I installl 90% of my programs in the normal way. Only if I use downloaded games or modifications like IW4M and IW5M I use this "dragВґnВґdrop" or "copy paste" thing.
