Fortnite will not push the engine, as... I don't think it can be pushed by a rational game, Fortnite will show the flexibility.

Unreal Tournament is the thing that pushes the Unreal engine.

It's not a game, it's just an engine demonstration. There will be many games on that engine though.

Whatever it will be, I hope it comes as soon as possible.

Unreal Engine 4 hasn't introducted so many nice features, they worked hard on shaders and fixed the particle optimization issues but with a i7 16gb ram and a very good nvidia card (same epic pc specs) make something like the tech demo with the UE3 they did isn't impossible. Tbh the most important thing they did is that they removed the old unrealscript shit and replaced it with c++ scripting other things aren't new.

UE3 was a bit of a disaster for non-nvidia, so I hope this one is more rounded.

In any case, improvement is improvement. Even improvement in performance is good enough, since current hardware is tapped.

I would love an Overlord III with this engine.
