So there was some prior work on getting IW4M2 to work on OSX using the cider wrapper. Just wondering if anyone knows whether the steam authorization will break the ability to use MW2 on OSX?

well sense mw2 is originally for windows, steam might have some thing that checks your os to see if u can download it. thats just my guess...

The m1 client worked with wine. I doubt that the m2 one will (unless you can get the alterOps credui fix working in wine)

Yes it will.

I made the port and right now there is no way to access Steam for Mac from an Cider Wrapper.

However you could install the Windows Steam version into a slower Wineskin Wrapper and make it work like this. It would be actually pretty easy.

IW4M2 worked like charm in both cider and wine with my alterops fix, so if NTA is not going to make significant changes, apart from the steam requirement, IW4M should work, too.

Oh I have Mac computer. It did worked with my Call of duty modern warfare 3.

 

Because I used VMware Fusion to use windows 7 and install in it and set fullscreen mode and PLAY!

I believe that Steam will be an issue in emulating IW4M, but once/if that is solved, there shouldn't be any problems. I do suggest bootcamp if you have a *legit* Windows 7 license.

I do have bootcamp (Use it for some schoolwork, have a legit license from my university) but I prefer spending my time in OSX. Worst comes to worst I will use bootcamp but a wine/cider port would be awesome.
