Ive noticed that all the custom maps for some reason make my fps randomly drop for a split second, this includes nuketown, these drops are not seen on the lagometer.

 

anyone else notice this, remember only on custom maps.

 

also as other people have pointed out the SP ported maps graphics are really quite messed up.

SP maps uses twice the memory then the regular stock maps.

 

as for the graphics being messed up. Its a bug... I having the same problem too. Hopefully be fixed soon.

nuketown uses twice as much ram? it happens on nuketown aswell

 

also its not like a slow drop in fps it like glitches from 125 to lets say 80 for a split second

i have 12gb of ram so its not a problem .

oilrig did NOT used to do this before the magical update the other day, but now oilrig DOES do this.

how is fps randomly dropping after the magic update a problem?

well its annoying for one and i prefered it before, u know when fps didnt randomly drop on custom maps.

And it might be related to RAM, ported maps don't use as much RAM as before, they still use more than normal MP maps, though.

Well, I don't get any drops, and I'm running it on a fine 71 FPS (capped at that mind you), and I have 4 gigs of RAM and a hella old laptop.

well anyway i hope this gets fixed , for people that play on higher fps

just checked and problem isnt there anymore, maybe i had facebook open or something and it was messing with my frames lol

i have, and i did see someone mention this way of starting it up, but it wasnt linked with the problem i was having.

so i didnt try it, but the problem seemed to resolve itself.

 

but if you look at this post no one apart from joeyb has actually tried to help me.
