Hi, How do you load a demo that is located in the mods folder? Because when I do /demo demo0000 it says that it couldn't find that file.

Even though it is, people won't search through a problem/error/fixes thread and will just simply look for this thread if they want to record demos. I strongly reccomend we keep this as a sticky.

But how often do people make a new thread for how to demo record? Not very often, as for the lost connection error, if we have a fix for that, and it was in my thread, and people STILL posted about it, THEN i would make it a sticky, but this, at this very moment, does not need to be stickied.

Quick question, is this now fixed for all maps?

Meaning does it only work for basic maps, or DLC package maps too?

Or are there maps in particular that does not work?

I also have the problem with "Lost connection to host". Is there already a solution?

Yes there is. But the problem is that ALL the demos recorded before this solution won't work. :/

 

Just go to your in-game console and insert /devmap mp_terminal . Since we are fixing the demos, insert on the console /record terminalfix .

Then record for some time, at least 30 sec. Then stop recording and disconnect.

After disconnecting insert on the console /demo terminalfix .

Let it play a bit and when it starts playing the demo, only after you start moving, you can disconnect and record every time, in all servers.

2: How do I navigate and jump in time in a demo? /cl_demoForwardJump 100 for example seems to do nothing. I'm guessing that 100 are frames. I guess it's part of the advanced tutorial.

Aww :3, thanks.

 

You should leave cl_demoForwardJump to the default value and use /demoforward 5000, /demoback 5000 (or any number) instead.

 

I will probably create the advanced tutorial soon.

This is a known bug, when you call in a harrier it crashes the demo for a reason that I don't know... :/ There's nothing you can do at this point to save the demo, just avoid using the harrier next time.

 

Would it be possible to fix this, though? I hope so.

Do you think they will ever add the avidemo to take screenshots instead of video like in CoD4?

Just to add my input, I too get the error as soon as I press 4 to pull out the Harrier's Laptop.

There is no fix for that, sorry.

So if i bind keys yo start and stop recording, my demos will be automaticly recorded with name (map, date? example - terminal05082012 or something like that?)

goto m2demo/demos or if you where recording with a mod goto the mod folder and they will be there
