Hey admins,

I love iw4m,there are lots of hackers , but as an admin of the WZ Servers in IW4M I get the chance to get rid of some.

Well lets get to the point. The Warzone Servers are very popular. Random people start faking our servers, they make servers with the same name( |WZ| S&D , |WZ|Terminal #6 ) , the admins on those servers ban every player they dont like...

this is really ruining our fame... we have to do something about it... we already tried to chat with the admins, but they just ignore us ...

magic I know the Forum... We talked about this. We don't have the power to make anything. We need somebody with more power than we have.

To do what? Delist it? It's not against rules to make a server with similar name...

people make a ban appeals at our site or argue with our admins/members because they got banned on one of those fake servers... its just unfair to let those fakers ruin what we build up !

Doing that would lead to registering servers, taking away the ease of setting up a server as it is now.

If the 'fakers' are deliberately using the same name to attract more people to their servers they should get delisted.

Meh, it was months ago over steam. We had quite a long conversation but you must have went AFK.

Well, if we did provide IP's and inforesponses (don't know how to get them), would you take action?

Well, judging by NTA actually replying to this thread and his replies, he obviously would take action providing adequate evidence was supplied.

Up to you to get those IP's and info responses then. (fyi I don't know how to)

Well, first of, you get the IPs by joining the server, then pressing TAB and voila you have the IP on the bottom right(who doesn't know this already ?). About the 'info response', I have no clue what that even is.

The best thing to do is to put up an announcement with the link to your forum and number all the admins on the servers. So when they go to unofficial server, and someone who isn't listed as admin bans them, they'll know the server is fake...

 

Also, wouldn't fake WZ servers have different ping? I alway sort my server by ping, and if all WZ servers are on top, and I see some others in the middle, I'll know they're not yours... well, unless they have same hosting or they're in the same country, that would be pretty confusing.

They seem to be originating from Poland, so you should have different ping there... also, our site lists all servers anyway.
