The server won't do any Steam checking; you're responsible for making sure you have legal files yourself.

How am I supposed to check for DLC licensing properly when that would imply VAC, which would mean an immediate* VAC ban for anyone using IW4M?

I'm not understanding the underlying difference between this and alteriwnet, and I don't think Activision will either. Not trying to bust yo chops dude but if you got a cease and desist, and now your putting up something pretty much the same they won't mess around when it comes to legal action, even if it takes a while (years lol).

Win? That requires substantial capital. This fight is rather the 'huge' party lying dormant for most of the time.

i don't think activision would do that over mw2.

 

After reading the cease and desist letter. it seemed to be more aimed at stopping the work done with mw3 and blackops.

Agreed with bobbo. aMW3 and aO were what cause the sh*tstorm, I really think that Activision won't care about this. Besides, MW2 Liberation bypasses DLC License checks, among a whole host of other programs.

why not just do the operation cover up of teknogods for using mw3 as mod..to avoid getting sue by Activision..

It's pretty simple.

Activision will not sue anyone unless it is really worth it (ex. they are losing a shitload of money)

If you even have the slightest idea of how much money it'll cost Activision to sue NTAuthority for this, you'll realise there's nothing to be scared of the way IW4M will be.

 

If Activision sues NTAuthority for it they most likely end up losing money due to the cost of lawyers and shit. You can pretty much compare it with the thousands of World of Warcraft private servers out there...they are ALL illegally hosted and provided, but you don't see Blizzard sue every private server hoster because it is not worth it for them money-wise.

Theses company's do not have any moral value or any pride. They are completely based on money. To them the world is just a sheet which says profit and loss. And this new project just has loss written all over it.

Activision would be making money off us if we had to purchase MW2, because I'm sure a lot of people would normally boycott steam vanilla mw2, if it wasn't for IW4M.
