This is the price I pay for entrusting others with my technology.

 

Unbeknownst to me, I unwittingly allowed my brother about two years my junior to play on my computer. One of the games I invited my brother to play was FourDeltaOne. I honestly don't mind my stats, nobody else sees them, so why should I care if my KD dips? Well it turns out that was the least of my problems.

 

When I came back, I noticed that my FourDeltaOne folder had some unusual files added...including what my brother quickly confessed to be an aimbot hack DDL file along with an injector application. I promptly deleted the incriminating files from my hard drive only to find out that the aCI had detected the hack and had temp-banned my account for 5 days.

 

My brother swears he only played on my mod and not online with the hack, but after seeing this nonsense infest my computer, I am quite reserved about my level of trust in whatever my brother says.

 

In any event, if anyone was playing online and happened to be an unfortunate victim of this, I sincerely apologize. I have reset the password on my computer and will no longer loan it to ANYONE for recreational usage. I would like to re-affirm that I am adamantly against hacking/cheating in ANY video game.

 

It is a hideous and atrocious showing of a lack of sportsmanship and respect for both your fellow players and the game itself. While I cannot confirm that the cheats have been completely disabled and removed as I cannot access 4D1 for the next 5 days, I would like to offer my sincerest and heartfelt apologies to anyone whose gameplay experience may have been diminished by my brothers actions. Ultimately, the responsibility fell on me to make a wiser judgement than to allow him to use my computer.

 

I have just reviewed my user notes and it appears the hack was installed just before I got back. In that case, I seriously doubt my brother had a considerable amount of time to use the hack online. Nonetheless, my apology stands as is.

EDIT: Zer0w was kind enough to accept my apology and disable the ban. I just activated 4D1 and confirmed that the hacked ddl files have been entirely removed/deativated.

Zer0w repealed the existing ban and my usage privilege has been fully restored, so consider my sincere apology to be the greatest extent of whatever retribution you seek. Sorry to disappoint you that I wasn't publicly hanged for this.

There has always been the possibility of an appellate decision on bans. However, the likelihood of anyone crying out for amnesty and getting it is unlikely.
