Hi, apologies in advance if this has already been addressed in another thread (I've looked through the FAQ and common fixes threads)..

 

I've installed IW4M using the installer from the big download button on the main page and I didn't encounter any errors during the installation. When I try to run it using "Play IW4M (Modern Warfare 2)" from the start menu, I am prompted with a login box where I put in my details.

 

After that nothing happens on my computer! I've checked my processes list and iw4m.dat is running, but it doesn't seem like anything is running. Before in AiW there would be a tooltip telling me to wait before a console popped up; does the same thing happen here?

I'm assuming you've tried killing the process iw4m.dat (and iw4m.exe if it's running as well) from task manager, then starting it up again?

Yup, still with no luck. Has anyone run into this problem before?

Try running as administrator and if that does not help try reinstalling.

If iw4m.dat is running in Processes, kill it. And use LaunchIW4M.exe

LaucnhIW4M.exe launches iw4m.dat I believe.

Try turn off your AV, update graphics drivers/divx etc...

I don't have an AV and my drivers are all about accounted for.

How does updating DivX help?

I've since reinstalled DirectX and MW2 to no avail; is there anything else I should be troubleshooting?

Wait like a minute or so.. And try to run windowed mode. Edit config_m2.cfg and config_mp.cfg change r_fullscreen 0 and r_noborder 1

I left it alone for half an hour after trying to launch it, pretty safe to say that it isn't my computer being slow. As for config_m2.cfg, I don't have a players folder, so I'm not sure if I even have generated a config file..

So how do I rectify that?

Create a folder called players and then find a config_mp.cfg from online.. Make sure it's made specific for MW2.

Try use different forum account to login.

 

I've placed players/config_mp.cfg and tried using a different login, both with no success...
