Hi, i just installed 4d1 but i noticed it started like the legit mw2, (i bought it but i don't have it installed)

So i didn't joined any server and closed the game, i wont start it again cus i read that some ppl got banned for using this on steam. I don't use any kind of hack or mods.

If i didn't joined any server, Can i get VAC banned?

i know that if i get banned you guys cant do anything but i just want an answer to this.

I don't want people writing comments like ''who the hell cares 4d1 is better than steam version'' be serious.

You downloaded the installer and ran the IW4M installer right? Copy the MW2 folder elsewhere (From "steamapps", to "My Documents), and then run the installer again. Post back to see if we can help more.

How could i join a steam based vac secured server with IW4M? i read that you need a legit CoD: Modern Warfare 2 (Steam) to play, sorry but i dont understand anything and i really want to play.

I have the game installed in the desktop in a folder named "Modern Warfare 2" as shown in the pic

When i start the game i get this in the task manager.

and the adress from the shortcut i start the game is C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\IW4M\LaunchIW4M.exe

i think that the problem is because this starts in C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\IW4M and maybe makes troubles with steam when its on.

The game shows up as CoD :MW2 It's just like that. It poses no threat against you the user.

The Steam MW2 does not have servers. It is purely based on matchmaking and finding regular players as hosts for the game.

 

4D1 is completely separate from the Steam version of MW2. It looks similar, but everything (ranks, servers, players) is completely separate. You also don't need a legit MW2 to play, though you are encouraged to buy one. Hope that clears things up

Because they have no idea how VAC works, and simply blame us for them getting caught cheating.

No you won't. They probably started some old detected hack and started the original Steam MW2 and got banned, so yeah their fault.
