Try removing all the foreign objects from dome, add them later if they dont register with the game, but if thats not possible dont bother it might cause more trouble.

 

by foreign objects i mean like the mw3 jeeps and humvees and tanks and other things like that.

the main thing is getting the actual map model to work

I would say that would be a logical possibility.

 

I wonder with this conversion code if and when we can launch the map, will .d3dbsp.ents editing be possible?

I don't think it's better. I tried to load mp_courtyard_ss a/k/a Erosion and the progressbar reaches ~70%.

Anyway, iw4m crashes at address 0x006B5E5A, for the same reason as Terminator (Memory could not be written) and I got a weird MessageBox saying 'Disk Read Error'...

That's the way it is with all of the maps. They all seem to have the same pattern of assets so they crash at the same point during loading (gfx_map done yet?)

Update: Did some work on the models yesterday, now it crashes at a different point - oh yeah!

Also, is it possible to try loading the map in bare bones, hardly any entities, no textures and so?

Possible, but it'd take a while to pick out the things that mw2 has already or doesnt and replacing or removing those models

Do you mean killstteak models?

If so, this easy to achieve. We can use stock mw2 maps for level dependecies.

No... If it was killstreak models then you could just restrict loading of them and use the ones from a mw2 map loaded as a dependency. There are other structures that need to be fixed first.

Yer i was gonna say, Do we have people working on replacing the structures atm? or is an abonded project?

The thing I can understand having the most trouble using would be getting the proper models synced, with the experience I've had with other games incompatible/ corrupt models have always caused me the most trouble. I would suggest worrying about those then get textures finished.

He got a C&D for his project SecretSchemes which is gone now :( as for this topic well it's just useless space now.
