My direct X keeps crashing to me. I have tried to fix it with this post right here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4144 and I installed both of the things that he gives there but my Direct X keeps crahsing to me. I am thinking that maybe I didnt install those things correctly ...

Controll panel->device manager->display

It will tell you the name and the manufacturer.

If you have an ATI card be sure you have the catalyst control installed for the your model. Had this error when I switched to xp, Installed catalyst control and it solved my problem.

 

On the other hand if you cant tell what video card is installed on your computer......Your fucked

I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

does it do it when your trying to get back into the game (not in lobby in the acctually 3d rendering of the game) after alt+tabing out e.g.?

I think its happends to me throw the switches of game maps I didnt really pay attention to when its happend exactly.

Can someone help me?!

I have the same problem with a HD 5770.

 

CCC is installed, Latest DX is also installed...

 

EDIT: A mate of my has also the same problems but with the Intel HD 3000 graphics.

See im running a HD 3000 setup on the laptop im posing this on, and i get the DX Crash when i Alt+tab out while ingame (in the 3D environment) but that was also a issue i suffered on IW4M2 in the old AlterIWnet days.

 

I also had this issue with the HD 3000, HD 5670, HD 5770, HD 6850 and HD 6870. This is a game issue since the old AlterIWnet days. I dont think NTA plans on fixing this anytime soon neither. Just dont alt + tab out or minimise the game ingame. Use the steam overlay instead :3
