XP>W7>Vista

Got you answer ?

Yeah thanks

Leave it. W7 is basically Vista but fixed and improved.

Yeah I know but vista looks so much more better, I've got XP dual booted with my W7, but vista looks so good (as in performance as well as visuals)

DO NOT I FUCKING REPEAT DO NOT INSTALL VISTA, it is a horrible operating system. I know from experience.

Windows Vista was terrible.

What? Say again ? As visual, its indeed better than W7. I must say :3

But performance ? While W7 run on older machine, Vista fail at it. While 4Gb RAM is enough to run W7 at is full speed, Vista needs 8 Gb. (I'm maybe wrong, but its from sefl experience).

For more info, read that article: http://windows.about.com/od/windowsosve ... sVista.htm

What does a linux user do here ? GTFO

*cough* Linux/GNU, there; I said it, happy ?

Back on topic, @ the OP; have you tried the Release Preview of W8 ? You'll maybe get confuse about the metro interface or the lack of menu start. But its faster than W7 and lighter in specs. RTM will get released somewhere in August.

Gahahaa! Yeah right! It doesn't need that much RAM, I've used it before on a 2GB RAM pc, it runs fine.

If you want any of these features: http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_features_removed_in_Windows_7, then yes.

I guess I could just use a Vista Transformation Pack, right?

Nah I heard you can bring back the start menu, so whatever, I'll look into that, but can I run IW4M, COD4, COD5, MW3, Saints Row 3, and TF2 on a new Windows OS? Is it possible?

Опубликовано:

Just leave.

You have Windows 7, which is superior to Vista, as Vista was said to be one, or the worst OS Microsoft has ever created.

Why install something that you will probably never use? Stick with Windows 7 (Y)

It just seems that people can run BF3 on a 6670 1GB at high settings (1280x1024, high settings, AA off), but I have to run it at 640x480 just to get 70fps, these people get like 70 fps on those settings, and I want that, I even have a 2GB, so I should get more fps on the same settings. I even have an i5-2320 3GHz with 8GB RAM

No, the start menu is completely gone, Microsoft made sure no tracks of it are left in the base code. (For the final release)

Vista is a trainwreck, plain and simple. Win7 and XP are the Windows OS's that I've had decent experiences on.

This is coming from someone typing on a MacBook Pro, however, so take my advice with however many grains of salt as you see fit. I will say that Win7 is a much better experience than Vista.

Fair enough, I won't use vista. Anyway, I just want something that is lightweight, something that doesn't use a lot of processes, you know? Only things I need is a Download manager, mozilla firefox, and some games (I got those ofc lol). That's it, just something with almost little to none running, y'know?
