For some reason when I play at 1920x1080 full screen with 4AA,Extra textures and yes to everything I get the same FPS as playing at 800x600 with low textures, no AA, and no to everything.

 

Is there a fix or something to change this?

Is your FPS capped ? com max_fps, search for it in config_m2.cfg also what's the FPS you get ?

I have same problem, but for me i think my GPU is bottlenecking my CPU?

Maybe just do "/com_maxfps 333"... And you get 200-250 with 1920x1080 full screen with 4AA,Extra textures O_o Are you kidding me...?

You shouldn't even be playing with 200fps.

Force V-Sync on in your control panel (easy to do in the NVIDIA control panel - IDK about ATI).

 

Having anything >60 is unnecessary and puts unnecessary load on your PC, specifically your GPU, increasing load and temperatures, which, in-turn reduces the lifetime of your hardware.

FPS can't influence game core mechanics, only gameplay smoothness, and that's only up to 60fps for 60hz montors, and 120fps for the newer (mostly 3D) 120hz monitors. So yeah, only difference FPS makes is that game will run notably smoother on 60 compared to 30 FPS, but you won't notice any change over 60 (for 60hz monitor).

Apparantly there's a glitch on some FPS games where if you have 333fps you jump a little higher, though apparantly it only happens in Quake games. IDK if it happens in CoD. But CoD does use the quake engine, so IDK.

Thats right, the engine is based on the Quake3-Engine... The FPS influenced the Jump-Height and the Multiplier of the Rapidfire of a Weapon, afaik (Not directly the multiplier, but how with higher fps you shoot faster)

Well I can't help you as to reducing your FPS. But I wouldn't say the load it puts on your GPU is worth the extra jump height tbh.

My GPU doesnt go past 40C and I have an aftermarket cooler so I dont see how they could be over overheating

How would I go about checking the CPU, and I just made this thread to see why there wasn't a difference in FPS

Someone in here said that anything over 60 is pointless

I won't/can't play on anything below 120~ because even on my 60Hz monitor, I still notice the lag

120 is so silky smooth it's unbelievable

60 isn't very nice for me anymore ):

It really is pointless.. if your monitor is let's say 60Hz and you're playing at 200 FPS, you're only seeing 60 FPS.
