Me? Couldn't care less.

Personally, the idea of choosing people who got the beta from a quest sounds stupid. People can easily spread the link to the end (or you could fix that) and directly get a beta key. And then idiotic people who just want the client will get it, and then start complaining over the forums saying 'it didn't workh elp me pls', or simply whine about not getting a key and about it being 'unfair'.

The quest idea is good, but you need to do some work. Like in DropQuest (or whatever Dropbox's quest is called), you couldn't get past a level until you got an answer, and it involved going to different pages. You couldn't skip to the end, and the rewards were scattered throughout the quest, meaning skipping would invalidate some rewards and also make the system foolproof.

I'll vote "just right" because i got the key ;)

Tbh, even i would be jelly if i was sleeping at that time, and honestly, i should have been (it was 4:00 AM and i had school the next day, ended up pulling off an all nighter and getting 18/40 on my test)

Well, I think the biggest problem was the very limited number of keys and the problem, that I totally missed that, because I was sleeping at this time.

I really like the idea of challenges like that and for a challenge the questions cannot be hard enough, as long as they are not impossible, but it should be a bit more fair. Like providing 48 keys over 48 hours. So everybody has a chance.

Well, i would have made it if it wasn't for that medling NTAuthority. Where I live, I beleive it was around 6PM(EST) But I think it should have been an equal chance. Whatever, I'm gonna play it when it releases, but NTAuthority, why release it when school start? Many people are going to be unable to play it in September and throughout school.

If he wasn't able to release it earlier, what can we do?

I think "not releasing it until my next vacation" is not the way to go.

In my opinion, you shouldn't have chosen people that get the quest right for the beta, as people shared information, and some were lucky and got it from others, thus making some people work hard, and some just wait (Like me. I only found our one answer myself.). And some people are crying that the game's not working.

You should of choose actual proper beta testers. But still, it was creative and fun, I'll give you that.

I voted for needed more questions, because it was over dang fast.

Most likely catalyzed by the fact that people were searching in the .iwi's for clues, aka somebody found the Terminal loadscreen clue on IRC within 5 minutes of the quest being up :/

Even though in the end I got nothing out of it (since I had the Beta + Activation prior), it got my brain working. Even though I was an idiot in IRC accidentally giving people answers by hitting enter and not backspace, I still had fun. Always fun for a bit of a challenge :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, and how the fuck does IW5M rhyme with UMP? :<

I don't know how long it was but I thought I was the first person ever to even know what to do with /start clue in the quest, I just ended up spending too much time on the first question because the .iwd would not work at all ingame for me and I got a minidump error, with the first clue being "Dump, hump, pump. Rump, thump, ump." things where not that easy for me...

So I kind got screwed there big time, not really fair.

It's not meant to.

The rhyming was meant to rhyme with UMP, which should've provoked you to use the UMP ingame. Then you would've seen IW5M etched into the back of the UMP, which was the answer.

I think the questions were just right, but only if more than just the first few useres would have gotten beta key.

Because you needed a lot of time to solve all questions, if you didnВґt "cheat".

And as I finally solved everything I got "beta key overused" message but it was only 2 or 3 hours after start of the quest and it was midnight where I live ...

I've already stated my opinion here, but I will quote it anyway.

Yeah some people were lucky

They were actually faster and more intelligent.

Yeah like if many of us got even a chance. I suppose neither of us visits 4D1 every day, or even every hour to check for announcements. You were lucky because you visited 4D1 at the right time and solved the quest, either yourself or with some help - but that's not the point. The point is many people could've been asleep at the time of the announcement, and many didn't think of visiting 4D1 right then.

I think this kind of quest should be announced like a day or two before it starts - people would have an equal chance of geting the beta keys. In my opinion another round of quests or, even, hack-me's would be highly appriciated.

And, also, I remember that back in alterIWnet times people that registered before a certain date had some privilages (I think it was alterBO beta or smth, can't remember right now) - this could apply to IW5M as well.

Anyhow, these are just my ideas - and I'm just unhappy that I missed another IW5M release by just a little...

well some of the questions are vage and i had to turn up my game settings to get some answers , like the first and fifth , so try not to rely on something like that because i it took me a while just to start a game to check out the ump . Try to make the questions more contextual and less check out the answer that in my resolution is about 5 pixels . Besides that no complaint's and thankfully i got my key . And like the guy above me said the hack mes are rely fun and i would prefer them to this .
