When I go to create a class in IW5M all the weapons are black, as if they're locked.

I can't choose them at all.

I'm stuck using default classes because of this, anyone have any ideas?

Only problem with that is that I can't run LaunchIW5M.exe and had to put the files in manually. :|

LaunchIW5M.exe crashes as soon as I open it throwing the System.IO.FileNotFound error, and same with LaunchIW4M.exe, and I have no idea why. :/

 

I believe it is something to do with .NET Framework 3.0/3.5 but I can't reinstall it as it's Windows 7, I've tried repairing, etc.

Only thing I could think to do is to format and reinstall windows or repair with a windows CD.

Ask NTA for a stats wipe the classes come from your stats -you know most likely- so just try to get it reset and then try it.

I've got the exact same problem

Hey I got the same Problem, the *friendly* IRC kicked me - I had to fix it myself.

First: It's important that your Game language is English.

If your Game is english save it via the save option in Steam (not by copying the folder)

Delete local files (MW3 Multiplayer AND singleplayer and Dedicated Server)

Go to your steam folder -> steamapps -> common and delte mw3 folder if it's exists.

Then backup MW3. Reinstall IW5M and your classes are editable.

i went to the zone folder and renamed the english folder to "english2"

 

Then I started IW5M and it downloaded more files. This made an "English" folder in zone. Copy the contents in the "english" folder and paste them into the "English2 folder". Now delete the "English" folder and rename "English2" to "english". Then it should work

You need some files, as far as I know, that are only working under the English version.

I don't like when people post whithout knowing about what they are talking about.

Actually, the problem is quite important since you can't play with custom classes. Also, a beta

is mean to test stuff, so if we can test to make the game working with other languages, it's a good thing. We're not whining, just fixing stuff.

I suppose I could put the game on an external HDD and run LaunchIW5M.exe on a separate PC at my house, and hope that works. I really need to fix my problem with me not being able to run LaunchIW5M/IW4M.exe, I believe it's something with my .NET Framework 3.5 but I don't know.

You don't have to use a separate PC, a different Hard drive would also work just fine.

No, the reason I have to, is because LaunchIW4M.exe/LaunchIW5M.exe instantly crashes upon opening it on my PC. This just started recently and I haven't tampered with any system files, etc. so I don't know what's wrong. But like I said I'm assuming it's my .NET Framework, (3.5) which I can't seem to reinstall, or anthing, at all.

EDIT : I tried to replace French files by yours, but keeping the game French (O.o)

Error : Couldn't load 'xp'.
