I hated it from day 1, the engine....and how it turns my GPU into this: 7001392-een-historische-vlieg-tuig-propeller-vlieg-tuigen.jpg

Compared to MW3, to MW2 engine is much more intensive that the MW3 one. Is there any way i can turn off useless stuff that i don't see ingame or can a 4D1-coder somehow fix the engine? :?

isnt the graphics engine the same?....besides...almost any game now will turn your gpu into a heater...lol. when playing games on my pc it is almost always at 80C

That's the same as mine; is that a good thing?

OP: MW3 Was optimised wasn't it? I can run 1920x1080 with native image quality, and everything off (3 options at the bottom are extra, high, high) with 45fps stable.

I can run 1280x720 with everything off and textures at high, medium, medium with 45fps stable.

MW3 Was definitely optimised for PC's!

most graphics cards are fine untill 90C. ive got a gtx 560 ti so its pretty powerful...and i also dont have a lot of space for it in my computer....the temp could probably be lower but 80C should not hurt it

edit: i usually run everything on max 1920x1080 with 120 fps :P

.... l2read?

In common terms, NTAuthority said that the complexity of the objects in MW3 maps are much lower than MW2, so the engine can render MW3 maps easier than MW2's, which are more complex.

There's nothing you can do to fix that. ;)

I'm sorry, wut?

On a semi-old PC (2years+) I still get ~150fps at all times.

4 year old rig here..radeon hd 4830 715mb card, 50-60 fps on mw2 while temp stays around 47-55C, normal fans..no liquid cooling..but my tower is massive so there is a ton of room and it has 4 vent fans, 3 pull 1 push, and 3 inside on the processor/gpu, its old but the 4830 is a great video card for the price, wish i bought another one before they quit selling for crossfire..they were only 59.99$, pays for itself easily..

i can imagine i would struggle with BF3 or Crysis 2 but still be able to run it on low-medium, about to replace a few things anyway tho, prob gonna move to a 1gb-1.5gb card

only time mw2 has caused it to be a heater or generally noisy is if it was dirty in the tower, a quick blow out of the dust solves this, highest temp its ever gotten was 72C when dirty

I totally agree, MW3 was made (in a way) better than mw2,

I run my MW3 on Native, with textures on High, Extra, Extra at 1280x720 with specular map ON and I get about 75-80 Fps stable.

When I run MW2 on the exact same setting layout also at 1280x720, but I get 66-70 fps :(

When I ran AlterIWM it ran 60 FPS. When I played the Steam version it had 10-20 FPS on Highrise and Scrapyard (I think because of the fires) and on other maps it peaks at 45 FPS. O.o

If it's old. than it's oblivous, get a new computer.

If it's not, check your fan speed in BIOS settings, and if your overclocking, TURN IT OFF.

If it's your graphic's card than I dunno.

My computer is OLDD and runs it fine

ATI RADEON 3100m

ATI SEMPRON SI-42 at 2.1ghz *LOL*

4 gb's of ram

250 HHD

Old, outdated hardware/processer

Runs the game smoothly, 30-40 fps, some low fps drops in smoke, and sometimes I get about some annoying 15-20 fps drops.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.4GHz

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250

Somehow the gpu-fan just starts too spin about a million times faster when i run MW2, i can get 80fps no problem though. In MW3 I get 120fps without the fan being loud at all. I'm an editor and i need to record gameplay, that's why i need a high fpsrate.

How exactly did you uncap from 90?
