Hi guys, since 3 days ago i have a problem with playing games on my laptop. Well, these days i played only mw2 (aRev and iw4play) and teknomw3 and after some minutes i play it my screen becomes black and i cant controll my screen anymore but i can still hear the sounds. At the start i thought it's the game cuz other guys had this problem too but when i tried to play mw3 i got same problem. And now i think it's my videocard or something other.

I have this laptop:

Aspire 7740G

-Windows 7 x64

-Intel Core i5 processor 430 M (2.26 GHz)

-ATI Radeon 5650

-4 gb Ram

That thing's been a virus from the start, Not even kidding. virus scans show it to be a trojan.

Delete it and delete alteriwnet files with it, it's not coming back.

 

Also, A black screen may acutally be because of that, scan your pc. malawarebytes. :twisted:

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, Start task manager, end the game via there and re-launch.

well thanks for your reply. well, i have eset nod and i scaned all my pc and there are no viruses. and for ctrl+alt+delete doesnt always work....

i updated the videocard driver and my texture quality are on low...

I'm sorry, Arev? That isn't very trustworthy, and a piece of junk that crashes all the time. If you have a problem with it, post there. (I used to play AlterRev, I'm still active on the forums)

If you can, buy legit MW2 and play IW4M, or use a patch for it. (I cannot give you a link, but it is somewhere on the AlterRev forums. That's all I'll say)

Try editing your config_m2.cfg

Search for this part seta r_mode "1280x1024"

Change it to "800x600" save it and then start the game.

do you have eitehr xfire overlay running or ts overlay? If so turn off and try.

Do you get the blackscreen while you are playing a game or right after you join a server? Because I used to get blackscreens when joining a server all the time and had to restart the game.
