As this forum keeps growing at a ever increasing rate, I have decided it is time to bolster our team. This will be your chance to apply for a global moderator position on fourDeltaOne*. I am looking for 2-3 new global moderators, but this is subject to change as the current team might get reshuffled.

 

As usual, please send your applications to me** and state why you believe you will be a good moderator. The application must include your real name (first name is fine), age, and country of residence at the top, preferably each on a new line.

 

Otherwise, you are free to babble on*** about your contributions toward the forum if you were to become a moderator, and the skills you possess. We don't particularly want an essay as we'll do most of the research on our own, but obviously some kind of effort as to why you want to join the team may go a long way. Lastly, past experience in moderating is not necessary, but if you have any let us know too.

 

I expect the application to be written in proper english, sound mature, and be without excessive use of CAPITAL LETTERS.

 

Oh wait. Forgot this point.

You will be doing this on a voluntary basis, you do not expect to gain anything from being a global moderator aside from forum permissions and/or special prowess that make other people bow down to you. No, no $$.

 

The deadline for an application will be a week (ending on 28th Sep). Please give us another week after the deadline to finalize the research and choices.

Why should first name and age really be needed?

First name isn't of any real use and age just leads to assumptions.

But you guys arent even close to a big number of posts. At the end of aIW I had ca 8000 posts and jeremych about 7000 to 7500. So you have long way to go

In aIW I hired a few people with 100 posts who were in my eyes a few of the best moderators that we had. I declined people with 4000 posts just because 99% of it was spam and saying that they were there much longer as others, so others should stfu.

In my opinion post count is irrelevant, why should a guy with 1000+ random (spam) post have more advantages than a guy that has 100 solid posts?

Have to disagree with the Italics Part of that. Posts KINDA do matter, it means activity. Lets take as an example, Radical. In my eyes he isn't active at all and means he shouldn't have a seat in the G-mods group. I may not know if he has a actual role in fourdeltaone or not, but again, In my eyes he should be removed from his g mod seat. His last post was on the 25th of June. I can't see his last visit date, but I would assume it's been a while.

Moderators should be active on the forums and willing to help out.

I think you don't understand what he means. Many people are moderators, becuase they were aIW-moderators, not because they contributed to the community.

On a side note, can't vouche for Radical on this one, as I have no clue where he hangs out atm. But he does have a life nowadays haha.

 

Moderator logs prove more then just posting. With that said, 1000 mod log entries say more then 15k on posts.
