To my knowledge is Fourdeltaone as a project legal. It's projects are legal, or try to not hurt the Dev(Steam check). If you download a cracked client to play it, that is not legal.

A steam check doesn't make it legal. It only ensures that Activision is OK with it.

It is kinda legal indeed. As far as I remember both, iw4m and iw5m had a steamcheck, so it is pretty legal. Plus the fact it is a lot better and has been around for many many months(if we count in aIW, it has been around more than 2 years).
