I think it might be steam. I've quit steam and my game runs fine on my 2005 Optiplex GX620 because of steam. Also, I run Windows Media Player and if you tweak the priority high or low, it might work; for me it's LOW priority...

Wont quitting steam shut down the game?

Well, technically if you quit steam while it's running steam won't shutdown at all. Because it thinks MW2 is running, and then it try's to shut the game down but it can't, so steam won't quit that easily. You have to manually toto your task manager and end the steam.exe process.

I had i simelar problem try Right clicking>>The search for some options like Drive with nvidea graphic driver

this was the problem for me just have to run it that way evry time i want to play..

 

Only helps if u have nvidea GPU

That sounds like it might be the solution, but unfortunately I do not have any such option as I have the Intel Chipset with the Nvidia GPU. It could also be that I have failed to figure out how to do what you explained, as your directions are somewhat unclear.

 

I do have a Nvidia control panel obviously, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Could you perhaps give some more details? It would be very helpful, and might be something for the FAQ.

 

Here is a picture. It's in norwegian but it will give you a sense of what you are looking for.

Found out how to do it, had to open the Nvidia control panel and change the settings for PhysX, I just didn't have the option you have there. Thanks for the help(I'm norwegian too, yay).
