They should just change the name.. this was the what? 5th attempt of a "back to the roots" game. Criterion made an excellent remake with Hot Pursuit2010. But Most Wanted is alot more different than Hot Pursuit (storyline, tuning(?cant remember),...).

There was a time where they made some of the best racing games. But this does NOT apologize how they destroyed "Need For Speed".

 

Carbon: Steering was bad even when tuning optimal. The gametime was.. 1-2 days.

Pro Street: Steering even worse than in NFSC a ton of bugs, the PS2-version was half of the normal version, but with the SAME price! (same for UC)

And its not about the tuning (the vinyl-editor in carbon was also a little milestone but wasn't finished), it's about gameplay.. It's about everything.

i found the steering in carbon.....ok, i got used to it.....and in PS....it felt better than carbon, except for the long speed runs(or whatever they are called)...and when you flip your car in PS, you instantly lost. the ps2 version of PS seemed to have the same stuff...but it looked like shit vs the pc...

Yes they were called "Speed"-Races. The steering was awful. Like driving a train on the road.

 

The "Flipping". I hated this SO MUCH. It seemed the cars are made of gummy. Just a small jump and they are bumping off up and flip.

- no "damage" only scratches.

- no animated crowd or girls waving the startflag.

- no graffities (and like you said, crap graphics)

- no windtunnel (↑ graphics..)

- hardly any smoke (↑ graphics) although in most wanted, carbon,... was "alot" of smoke

- alot less tuningstuff.. e.g. the body-kit of the M3 E64.. There was the same like in MW on PC, PS3, Xbox360. Seriously.. WHY ?

I don't see what you guys are crying about, there are alot of fixes for the problems you have, just like the fix I am using for NFSMW2012, it's a plugin that improves the steering response. But I wouldn't need it otherwise either since I play it with my Xbox 360 controller :3

I haven't player MW yet, but I played the demo and it's hard as hell to control cars. Especially after The Run. Damn exotic cars seem like muscle cars.

 

Well in the run the cars felt like boats when stearing them

Yeah the cars did feel weird, but The Run was MUCH better than this. The storyline was good, I liked the realism, even though the cars was hard to handle, once you get the slowing-down then turning-without-accelerating and then accelerating out of the corner down, the cars feel fine. Also that technique works so well online, I got the Bonus Wheel trophy on my first go with a bunch of level 15's and 20's (I was Level 12)!

 

I feel like this is a more NFS Undercover styled Burnout, if you get what I mean.

 

Realism - Sure

 

Like driving into a gas station and automatically changing cars, being chased by a helicopter while your car has a bloody screen, Having to unlock to unlock the funktion to use the slipstream while driving behind other cars, running across roofs while being chased by a helicopter and so on.

 

So yeah the game is pretty realistic. -.-

I had no problems with either, and IIRC Pro Street was patched really soon, and they even gave extra cars in that patch.

It has, as they killed the real NfS series after that. They should have had NfS on one side, Burnout on another, and Shift as a new IP.

Also, by Undercover alike game, I mean game that has real NfS spirit, even though the game wasn't much fun gameplay wise.

Yes, this is exactly what I meant, and it's the reason I said it's the last real NfS.

Shift series are good too, but you gotta agree that's not really NfS.

And as for the Burnout, I like that game too, I just don't like NfS being Burnout.

 

It's like BF devs joined IW and made a new Battlefield game but called it CoD.Even though I like Battlefield more, CoD would be ruined.

 

And another thing, I don't get this street racing with exotics and supercars. It's like, your first car is an average coupe but 5 races later you can afford a Porsche or Nissan GTR. Then it takes just a bit more and you unlock supercars, like Zonda and the rest of the games you play by changing few supercars you have. What street racer could afford that? Skylines and Supras are supposed to be fastest cars street racers can buy, I'd rather have 50 normal, everyday cars, which you can tune, also some popular oldies from 90's, than 20 normal cars and 50 supercars.

Burnout on one side, NfS on another, then everyone could buy what they want instead of mixing the two titles in this new gen NfS so both NfS and Burnout fans are unhappy.

 

I want NfS with tuner cars and some kind of a story (MW type) back. Same with Burnout, I want it with unlicensed cars, without speedometer, with bikes (like in Burnout:Paradise) and based on total destruction.

Try NFS Underground 2 with texture pack, awesome, just awesome.

Both NfS and Burnout had to compensate,and IMO, unfortunately for the worse. 2 great series ruined to create one bad game.

i agree.....whole the new most wanted was fun(for about 5 hours), they should have kept them separate, just like you explained above...street racing cars for racing, unlicensed cars for crashing

I think Black Box will never become what they were. There is no hope imho.

When speaking of a "real NFS -street racing | not all fast expensive cars | tuning, customization" I would completely agree with you and Sobe, but not if Black Box would develop it.

They totally fucked up the NFS series. Hot Pursuit 2 was the last good NFS game. High Stakes is my favorite game and the second best is Hot Pursuit 2.
