I keep getting the directx errors... "Ran out of memory" and "Unrecoverable error". I already tried the things said here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4144

 

What can I do ?

 

And, I downloaded the maps Oil Rig, Burger Town etc. and put them into Zone, but the only map I see ingame is Oil Rig, are the servers not starting Burger Town and the others or is it a problem at my side ?

I cant even answer this...

Make sure your texture settings is not set to high & also make sure your graphics card and directx is up to date.

 

delete config_m2.cfg on /players/ folder and try again.

Okay I reinstalled the latest driver for my Graphics card and deleted the 2 files you told me to delete. Also I set the Specular Map from Extra to Normal... I will play now and state here if the problem happens again. Thanks for the help.

Well I deleted both so doesnt matter

For me there was 2 things which caused these errors:

 

- Having buggy GPU drivers

- Having Xfire enabled while playing.

I dont have Xfire installed and my graphic cards driver is from the official Nvidia website.

In my case the fd1 client can even reach 1600MB ram if I load a SP map..

Oh lol okay I thought you ment I should use a program which makes a txt file with the ram usage Well I will test it today.

 

EDIT: I loaded Oil Rig, Alt-Tabbed to see the Task-Manager and it said: 1.359.896 K.

When I Alt-Tabbed back into the game. the "Unrecoverable error" error came.

If your client already uses 1,3/2 GB it's pretty likely that the game closes due to the lack of free ram.

I mean you still have your idle process and some other stuff running, you could use sth like gamebooster to reduce the amount of unnecessary stuff running in the background.

Turn all texture settings to low. Also, if you're using Zer0w's gold camouflage, disable it.

I have 8GB ram and no buggy drivers , still that probem :|

Try gamebooster. and dont Alt/tab out of the game during Matches, in lobbys. Menu's its fine in a 3d game enviornment it will cause the Directx to crash is what ive found. It was a issue i has with M2 back in aIW days. 2gb of ram should be ample. if your using the internet browser while in game use the steam overlay and use that is the only thing i can suggest. clsoe any un-needed programs such as spotify, iso-virtual image software. Torrent programs it all adds up. This is all i can suggest.

 

EDIT: Try setting speculars to low and disabling secular map for now. aswell as shadows.

Sorry i couldnt be of more service mate, i have the same issue i just use the steam browser instead of alt+tabing e.g now, your not the only one suffering
