It will likely be here, it will use Steam as a means to check if the user has legit MW2, and yes, it WILL require a legit version, including likely map packs which you'll pay for separately.

I really don't know why people still asking about a "free version"... :?

 

EDIT: sry, TchMeHowToSULLY actually means "pay for it" not "play for it". My bad for misunderstanding :oops:

The purpose of previously AlterIW wasn't even to provide a "free MW2 game".

They wanted to give us the features Activision didn't, such as dedicated servers.

I don't get why people assume that as soon as something isn't official it should immediately be free...

This isn't about the 'official' side (Some other cases may, but deff. not this one), this is about the aIW version, since it was free.
