How to sync your time (Windows 7, Vista, 8 and XP)

Try all these methods before posting!

 

 

Windows 7/Vista/8:

Step 1

Go to the area where the time is displayed.

 

 

Step 2

Click on the time and you should be greeted with this menu.

 

Go to change Date and Time settings here.

 

Step 3

Click on the Internet Time tab in this menu.

 

 

 

Step 4

Click on change settings.

 

Step 5

In the menu that just popped up, click Update Now.

 

 

Step 6

Wait until it completes and you should be done.

Windows XP:

Step One

Go to the location where the time is displayed.

 

 

Step Two

Right-click on the time and select Adjust Date and Time.

 

 

Step Three

Click on the Internet Time tab in the menu.

 

 

 

Step Four

Click Update Now and wait until in completes.

In the window, click File.

Step 4

Click Select Server.

Step 4

Select the time server closest to you (if one doesn't work, try another), and click OK.

Step 5

Click on Query Server in the main window.

Step 6

Click 'Now' (if you wish for it to do it automatically, click Periodically).

Step 7

Try IW5 Multiplayer.

NOTE: Windows will automatically update the time every '604800' seconds or seven days.

Because you internet connection router which is not synchronized with time.

Go into the router settings: System> Time Zone

It must be blocked, or your Internet is too slow.

I live in greece and when i play mw3 at 22:00 o'clock it is worked and does not show me server connection timed out..... when i play at 9:00 o'clock at the morning he tell me that server connection timed out (sorry fo my bad english)

Yeah, I agree, nice backseat moderation there.

This "solution" really needs some sticking... somewhere.

But more importantly it needs a lock because it never got much more helpful after the first 4 or so posts.

more precisely go to control panel -> network and internet -> network devices -> right click on ur router -> properties -> settings(wait some time)-> add->

give a name to the rule (ex: iw5m), type ur ip (go to cmd and type ipconfig for ur ip), then choose UDP and write 3074 on the two textboxes then ok -> ok

and thats it.

Some time ago the only way for me to play was by connecting 2 times to the same server, i tried every fix proposed on the forum, none of them worked, then i tried this one and works fine

Some of you might also try DMZ.

Or even better, disable your router's PPPoE and make the dial-up directly from your OS, that way no NAT to be bothered with. Although probably this has been covered countless times.

Erm, well, I don't think this really requires a sticky. It is mentioned in the Common Error's thread and I believe that is good enough. However, I may just clean up this topic.
