I think it is a disaster waiting to happen. What are your thoughts on it?

seems like a great idea for those tablet/laptop hybrids(not for gaming...but for businesses)... but for a normal pc this is terrible

The OS is perfect for what it is designed for

If people are assuming win8 is a pc followup for win7 they are wrong.

FLAT OUT HATE IT. STAY WITH WINDOWS 7.

On a PC using Windows 8 Consumer Preview and I love it so much. It's so fast, and I love the start screen. Can't understand the hate over it. It has the desktop you know.

i know it has the desktop(glad they didnt get rid of it >.<) but alot of that extra stuff...i probably would never use for a gaming computer and it would just take up extra ram...so im ssticking with windows 7

Actually Windows 8 is faster than Windows 7, and uses LESS ram. I have both on my system, and have the same programs, and Windows 8 is considerably faster. I use Win 8 for gaming, and it works well.

idk y but that does not make sense......win 8 has so much extra stuff...(from what ive seen)...unless they removed a lot of the stuff that was in win 7...

Bullshit IMO. just a windows 7 + a touch interface.... crap for its price.

Simple: If you have a computer with a touchscreen monitor then yes.

 

Other than that, it's shit, It gives an XBox feel to it.

@Sobe They improved the desktop's screen usage, and the start screen uses nothing at all.

I'll stick with Windows 7 until whatever comes after Windows 8.

lol.....i prefer win7 cause it doesnt have as much running in the back for the os and other stuff.....

According to the rule of Windows nВ°1 which says that on version each two version of windows is a piece of crap, that means Win8 will be a piece of crap, so wait for Win9

Cant wait. love new windows for some reason.

If they allow you to disable the metro UI start screen and they re-enable the start menu, then ill use it, otherwise I'm sticking with Windows 7.

Looks horrible. I want my computer to function as a computer. Not a f***ing smartphone.
