we need some sections here, its getting cluttered

 

I propose 3 sections: Plugin Releases, Plugin Help and Requests, Textures and Skins

 

Plugin Releases section should:

  • need approval for each post
  • it should be required to post the source on all plugins, no binaries (moderators will compile upon approval/virus-scan)
  • there should be no auto-update

other two sections have the same rules as all the other sections

Don't say Plugins, NTA hates that word... that's why the "mods" are called scripts :> anyway yeah I agree with this. Also if we can disable downloading of attachments but only for regular users Tech Support and above you be able to "enable" them.

.NET is not a scripting language (lua and python for example are), InfinityScript has "script" because it is a wrapper for the GSCR (game script runtime)

My suggestion is that the approver of such releases will compile them manually, ensuring that no malicious behavior is inside the code. We don't want random members posting .dll's with sneaky things inside them :)

Most people do release their source then again some don't. I would still suggest a private thing between staff and mod makers.

ok, plugin developers can request whether their source be shown or not - only the approving staff will see the code (and remove it before approving)

server scripts only
