Okay, so I have had 4D1 for quite a while now, since March, and all of a sudden my anti-virus(AVG) is picking up the LaunchIW4M as Virus? Also, I can't even play MW2, because it is now looking like this:

 

 

 

It is not even showing up as that MW2 Icon. I Don't know what the deal is, because I can't even play the game because of all this BS.

That's why I always unninstall AVG on whatever computer I get on, wich has it installed.

On my experience, that anti-virus is the "false-positives king".

Get rid of it and choose some other free anti-virus application.

If you see here -> viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20347 there's another report on the same, (suddendly, 2 on the same day) wich means that was a stupid definition update on the anti-virus.

I don't have much experience with Malwarebytes, but I must say that I once saw it succeeding in detecting and removing a virus, after the resident anti-virus (it was Avast) failed.

Havn't used that one, but I heard about it being very low in features. But meh...who the hell uses anti-virus features!! :mrgreen:

I tried it once and it deleted some of my "sneaky software" as soon as it finished installing, without even asking (good that I got backups across computers).

It might be good for the average user though.

I would recommend un-installing AVG, as noted above, due to it's high false positive rate.

Personally, I would use an antivirus from the official Microsoft trusted partners list: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/antivi ... ows-7.aspx , and find a free one from there (avast!, Microsoft Security Essentials, Avira, COMODO are all good examples of trusted free antiviruses).

The thing is, I had the paid AVG. I uninstalled it and it works fine now, thanks.
