My server is fully updated and everything runs smoothly but no one can see it in the server browser. People can connect to my external IP but still can't see my server in the server browser. Hmm another thing to check on your dedi's console does it say "Sent heartbeat to iw4m.prod" or something like that.

Yeah it says sent heart beat to 4d1 play and all that

i have done all you have wrote in the post but i cant find the "iw4m.dat" in my "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2" folder im running on a 32 bit system and i dont know what to do and i want to make a server so i can play with my friends please help and thanks for the tutorial as long as it worked

You need to download the dedicated server tool from step 1 then run it in your mw2 directory

What files do you get when you do that?

I will have to do some testing...

In proprieties where it says "target"

i deleted the target and put +set net_port 28961 and got the error that its invaid!!

i still get the error here is what i got "C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Modern Warfare 2\iw4m.exe"+set party_maxplayers 18 +set net_port 28961 +exec server.cfg +map mp_rust +map_rotate -dedicated -console and i get the error file name is not correct or target path is wrong

that's way too long too fit the target box right?
