Well, I wished they had released the emulator sooner (or I had found it sooner), I recently bought that game and I was really disappointed. If I had tried it I wouldn't buy it. When I first played it I thought it would be a great new game, but after 10-20 hours I realized that it is just a casual game without new content. Many of my friends bought bf3 and I am glad that I didn't bought it, it's just the same shit with a new price.

I just stick to my classic games like counter strike or unreal tournament. I have over thousands of hours in those games and they are all cheaper. Even Serious Sam is more fun than those games.

You know these are the same guys who published 1000s of lines of NTA's code without his permission, right?

what

*cough* Inter vs Nexus *cough*

Yup, stolen Interlabs database.

However, Battlefield is all their code.

I'd really like it if the publishers of these games made the source code available to public (Under GPL) because they aren't going to loose any revenue after the period of 2 years or more.....as after such long time they would move on to their next project and leave the users of the old one to rot and die (without proper support)...

Instead of that, if they start releasing the code to public, it would benefit the users as well as the publishers (and its own developers). Feedback from the users of old product would help the publishing company in developing their new projects in a better way and to a better satisfaction of its users.....Everyone would be happy.....

But....after all this has been said....these companies never want to be a part of development....They just want to make tons of money.

Year after year, better tools are being developed for "imprisonment" and "restriction" of development (DRM). They are forgetting the simple fact that the more the number of people that work on a project, the more perfect it will become.

I am a supporter of gaming development and I do feel that the developers must get paid for what they make....But the developers don't get much....The publishers reap everything (its always the MBA (people in management) guys that have higher pay grades, not the B.E or B.Tech guys (people that actually do the coding)).......And these management authorities of publishing companies simply stop development by imposing restrictions on development for the sake of money.

Sorry for such a long post....I am an ardent supporter of open source projects and I had to get this off my chest. :)

They won't release their codes. Companies like EA or Activision make games that have almost no content so the users play their games, get bored because it has no content and buy the next game that comes the following year. That's the reason why they ban all those custom map tools.

If they release the codes they give the community the chances to make mods and addons, which might make that game interesting again and people wont buy the next one.

Almost.

Would anyone buy a DLC pack for IW3? No, of course not, there's tons of modded maps out there! DLC maps would simply be remade by the community anyway.

So it's pretty much just to make sure they can sell DLC.

Even John Carmack doesn't provide his iDTechX engine source code after 2 years, are you mad ??
