Will IW4M allow pirated game copies?

Since there is no checking mechanism, the answer is yes, but we are not responsible for your illegal acts, nor do we recommend you to do so.

 

What does it support?

Everything that was in aIW's IW4M2 (such as mod support, dedicated servers, custom textures).

However, since Activision will not allow us emulating their service, IW4M only supports dedicated servers, and not matchmaking.

 

Is the source code public?

Client-side source is public, including the code for dedicated servers. The master-server source, along with the anti cheat source (aCI), however, will not be available.

 

Can I transfer my stats/rank hack?

Old stats from alterIWnet will be imported automatically on the first start; any other stat files can be imported using EAM, which can be found in any number of places.

 

Can I play if I'm VAC banned on Steam?

Yes, as we cannot verify which game you were banned from, this status is irrelevant. If you want to be better safe than sorry, make a copy of your Modern Warfare 2 folder from steamapps, and put the IW4M files into the new folder.

 

Do I have to have the DLC on Steam to play the DLC maps on IW4M?

No, as we cannot verify that you do or do not have the DLC on Steam, you will not be incurred any limitations on the client.

 

Is there any anti-cheat?

There is a functional anti cheat that is constantly being updated. Cheat reports are not allowed, nor needed.

You are missing the DLC packs/related IWD files for Modern Warfare 2. Update your game on Steam, or download iw_22.iwd and iw_23.iwd and put them in the 'main' subdirectory in your MW2 directory.

 

The client is updated, but when I play I have no ammo.

That means the server on the one you are playing is not up to date. Play on another server or ask the server admin (politely) to update.

No, no no. He isn't liable as he isn't emulating IWNetserver, the main protocol Activision own. However, since dedicated servers are the ONLY function of our modifications, and we aren't emulating anything Activision own, this project is fully legal, and does not require the steam check.

I think this is still very vulnerable from a legal standpoint.

Demo's do not work on legacy servers as they use outdated code for demo's. Demo's will work on every map for non-legacy servers so you may wish to disable legacy servers in the browser ui or not record demo's in servers indicated with a green asterisk (^2*).

The only thing i want is MODS like the mods we got for alteriwnet

aCI is ONLY up for IW4M servers... We cant control aRev servers.

After the Update, I have big issues and can't play anymore. When I try to start the game, it says I have to update to a new version. When I try to start iw4m_opdater.exe, it doesn't work. And try to reinstall with InstallIW4M.exe doesnt' work, either. What can I do? Do I need some other programs?

What about the LaunchIW4M.exe?

I've been to stupid. Before I always tried to start LaunchIWM4.exe without putting the new .dll in the folder

Edit: My stats keep getting reset all the time - mostly when it says "Connection to Steam necessary" something. It's not hard to push yourself back with the EAM, yes, but it's somewhat annoying having to set all your classes again and again and again and again. :/ Any way to fix this, or why is this happening?

Any ETA on the anti cheat stuff? geting kinda old with the "was dead before I seen um" bull crap and the "Auto head shot" lame crap.

There already IS an anti-cheat, but its STILL in the works.

It's already fine for me!!! i missed Alteriw so much...

Now the next step is a good anti-cheat protection like in alteriwnet (or better one) heheh

Check your config_m2.cfg.

Also, delete your iw4m.ini in your root folder for the logins.
