Click Profile, then account settings.

 

Step 3

Enter your new nick and current password, if the nick will be avaiable you will get it, as you can see i added an underscore to my nick.

Because many people playing IW4M have wanted an easy way to change their gamertag for whatever reason (adding in a clan tag prefix, changing a letter or two, who knows). More people seek to change their name because they wish to change it for IW4M than those who just want to change it for the boards/elsewhere.

So... No need to change cedentials in iw4m.ini?

 

The iw4m.ini is just a file to save ur login and password for auto login ( remember that you had to login at the first start and you probably checked "Remember login details" or something like that )

So if you change your nickname, you have to change it in that file too, otherwise the game will not start because the previous login doesn't exist anymore.

If authentication is rejected after autologin, the game will open the login dialog allowing you to enter different credentials.
