Private Match works, but u can't play with a friend or bots yet.

Nope Private Match doesn't work..also whats the use of private match if u could host your own private dedi?

Hosting a matchmaking lobby and running a dedicated server are actually pretty close. One is just "dedicated" while the other is built right into the game.

Learn how to create a dedicated server here http://fourdeltaone.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=11583. Then create a passworded server and give your friends the password.

However I feel this may open a whole new can of worms.

If you're on the same network you might wanna try the internal IPs instead of the external..

So for some reason it doesn't work iv added my friend on steam and on here,but he still doesn't show up on my in game friends list. :?

I remember it worked fine on ao and amw3 at one point of time but of course we couldnt add the players
