Finished it... The problems that already exist with demo loading are still present so don't complain about it.

*UPDATE* changed it to use the built in FS_ commands as well as a fix for if the game just decides not to record (readonly demos folder)

*UPDATE 2* final release with the new bugfixes from NTA as well as a binary release for everyone who isn't able to compile.... and if they delete it then everyone is screwed.....

Info:

Uses a .meta file that stores metadata. Redirected the /record and /stoprecord commands so that it outputs a .meta file for the demos that are recorded from now on.

Now loads the demo even if it doesn't have metadata (it was only required for demofixes which are no longer needed)

*Note* just the modified files are included and there is a bunch of unfinished/unimplemented stuff commented out.

Installation:

Just extract to your mw2 folder and overwrite files as necessary.

This software is free for you to distribute, modify, and use as long as I am given proper credit.

might already be thinking about these(or are not possible) but it doesnt hurt to mention it:

1) something that shows the length of the Demo(before you click on it)

2) something that tells the score or if you won or lost

looks great tho, would definitely use it!

As he said, he doesn't know the format of the demo files.

I presume they would be the same (mostly) as CoD4 demo's so it wouldn't be too hard.

I was also thinking of making a 'demofix' command which automates the process of loading the map, disconnecting, loading the demofix, loading the demo.

i think button 1 2 3 and fix demo button should be at the bottom instead. making it look cleaner.

something that would make it look awesome would be when hovering you're mouse on the demo it would also show a preview image of the map like in "private match". i dont think the background or anything should be changed since that would ruin the "mw2" look. overall grate job. cant wait for further updates.

Well if you load the demofix file and then immediately load your demo it seems to load without a problem (via the console). The only problem is that if you just add them to the command queue at the same time (/demo demofix_mapname; demo demoname) it just immediately loads the second one without waiting for the other to load. There would need to be a sort of "sleep until loaded" function or an on game load hook.

I will probably make the demo list not as wide and look into loading such information from the files and having a preview image (now I have to look at the other menus for having images based on dvars...) and things like length and win/loss.

You mean like:

devmap mp_rust; disconnect; demo (demoname); wait 5; demo (demofix); wait 5; demo (demoname)

That way it will let the demo load first, wait a bit, then load the demofix, wait again, and then load the demo. I've just tried it and it works! :D Hope you maybe can do something with that.

1) I don't know if this is possible, but if it is this would be epic to implement in your add-on...thing.

so what i was thinkng is like a screenshot on everymap you can view from the menu with the movie config you've selected so you can see how it looks on every map and pick the config that you like the most... just an idea i don't know if it's possible, but if it is...

*image snipped*

That would be epic...

-Best regards, Vix.

Mate, Zer0w just said no memes.

Since I know of no way to render these previews the screenshots would have to be provided by the person who made the config file. And even then it would be a complete waste of space as you can change movie config files on the fly (just do /exec configfile.cfg) And seriously people, stop it with the memes... this isn't 9gag.

I'd suggest that you also add a "Gametype" tab, displaying what gametype you played, but that may be some of the information you don't know how to get?

Better to display all demo info below that map image, just like in other Call of Duties.

Thats what I planned to do. Now.... demo files....

So not gonna see any source code eh? Oh well :L really wanted to see this.

You wouldn't want to see his source code, as he uses really obscure libraries, and weird methods.
