Sorry if it duplicate of question, but searching don't help to me find the problem solving.

After released r24 Not working russian ingame chat. When somebody trying type some text in chat, it visible for writer, but when hi push "Enter", his phrases are disappear, and it invisible for him, and other players.

Our community found out the reason of this issue, it server side problem. Many hosters rolled away the servers to the version r21, by replacing "iw5m.dll' from older version.

But we hope it makeshift for it. I understand, 4D1 not supported other languages, but it realy possible! (r21 was working). Also russian words not logged (r21 version too) We can't autokicks for bad words. :(

Dear NTAuthority or somebody from Tech Support, can you do something with it, please? It is a great request from russian community, and me. :)

Does your chat overall not work, or just the russian symbols?
If message content have at least 1 russian symbol, message don't displaying (but MAM russian messages work correctly).

In dedi console I can see following:

Well, we, as tech support are not developers I believe it was some anti-crash measure that can be fixed. NTA...
Oh... can somebody tell him about? Please. Our community will wait r25 release with fixed chat...

For now, it was more important to prevent the server and client crashes caused by a combination of some of those characters.
I didn't see any reports about crashes yet...

But there were though. Crashing people's clients with weird letters and stuff ;p

i'm quite sure I only checked for <32 characters, your windows-1251 characters should still be passed properly

 

- To make possibility Cyrillics in games_mp.log

try to get IW to support unicode first

When we trying replace "localized_***.ff" files, we got errors like "Couldn't load..." etc.

So, it's not that the game ignores the chat. The server rejects it.

And the server rejects it to prevent some users from exploiting those characters to crash other clients.

From above told clearly that, you do not want to support other languages specially.

However on tekno such problems are not present!

Therefore on-line at you big will be never!

Change the point of view in this respect!

@Baskar: you don't even know what you're talking about.

Ask NH9 to join you on a Tekno server and you'll learn what we're talking about (there are more people who know and abuse that exploit, but NH9 seems to be the only one who assumes it and tries to help fixing it)

It's not that we don't support other languages. I also miss the portuguese chars. But it's more important to prevent client crashing than having localized chat.

because they use older fastfiles, perhaps?

 

if you had saved the localized_ui_mp.ff for your language a few Steam patches ago, it would work perfectly with any language.
