Knowing myself quite well, I will probably get it as soon as it's easily cracked, as I can't stand having outdated stuff.. (although that desire mostly gets overruled by a major lack of funds :()

I got RTM.... IT SUCKS. Cant even get Minecraft to run (Java cant be installed) , or get my proper video drivers for playing games (Intel doesnt support Windows 8 [They only have one video driver for windows 8}). Good thing I dual-booted...

i prefer windows 7....and i think 8 looks too much like your computer is trying to be a phone...i dont mind the look, just not for a pc.

also i didnt buy windoes 7 ;) , so i dont plan on spending money on 8 if im going to get it ;)

I probably will eventually, but it isn't a priority as of now.

I'm a mac fag. :o

But you need a mac to edit video (the only thing you can do better in a mac than in a pc) .

Even tough i think it's still an overprice piece of shit computer that only lives on because of fanboys.

Umm.... What are you talking about? You either are using some "App" that Apple has made or After Eeffects which you can use on a pc. Also, if you are using After Effects it would be better off on the PC as you aren't as limited by hardware as you are on a mac.

still prefer vista to any other OS (even tough xp was the one that advanced the most for it's time)

Vista? Really? You prefer it? How the heck do you compare vista to 8? Of course 8 would be an upgrade from Vista. Windows 7 is much better. It use less resources (like it should), has a more stable operating system (like it should), and actually allows you the dignity of taking care of your computer, unlike the hassle which is tweaking dll's/registry files/going through the command prompt to change things that you could do on XP in 2 clicks (like it should). Have no idea how anyone likes Vista. I had it for 7 months. During that 7 months, I had at least 2 BSOD's every week due to random errors with drivers and dll's that would run in the background and conflict with each other/run into never-ending loops. You really need to try out win 7. It's a vast improvement.

Now, compared to 8, I really don't like the changes that they made. I know what they're trying to do: They're emulating Mac's whole "Every device that we make has the same feel for you because you're obviously an idiot, so you need things to be easy. Look how easy we made it for you! Now you get the same experience that you have on your phone on your tablet and on your pc, too." There's a reason why I have a phone that I can customize and a computer that I can customize, too. Call it personal preference, I call it a change of pace. I want my layouts to be different. Windows 8 makes it easy to operate basic functions. What makes it crap is that it doesn't do what it's supposed to do: Make it easy to operate your pc. Installing things is a chore, getting old layouts to work is a hassle, and I just can't get over the fact that if I want Windows 7 to look like Windows 8, I can install rainmeter and Omnimo and get more functionality plus the looks that I want in a very easy package rather than spending time trying to understand a whole new way of working. Windows 8 doesn't bring anything new to the table besides a few more moving panes/a phone layout. Get real.

Wut, no. I've edited a lot on both mac and PC and preferred the PC..

You can get operating system to look like any other by theme packs anyway. Looks aren't the determining factor in OS choice. What you can't emulate, however, is the new start screen and the provided 'metro' apps. The start screen offers instant updates of information without the need to start an app or go to a webpage, and improved 'aero snap' that actually restructures contents is very useful if you need to multitask on two windows at once.

Another thing, Windows 8 does bring something new (check NTA's earlier post). Like it or not, the start screen is Window's future - live tiles were met with a lot of positive criticism (both on win8 and wp8). Microsoft recognises that the desktop will be faded out in the future due to tablets replacing PC's (look at all the OEM's, it's tablets or convertibles galore). Touch is the future - again, look at new touch screens found on the new win8 devices. Actually, win 8 HAS to bring something revolutionarily new to the table, otherwise, there would be absolutely no incentive to upgrade from win7 (somewhat like how the Mountain Lion update was meh, just incremental updates. or not much people demanding android 4.1 over 4.0 - again, incremental updates). Win7 was already a fine operating system; it functions perfectly most of the time. It seems that Microsoft is bringing new stuff every 2 versions of Windows; the middle ones are fixes to the previous one (vista-win7-win8).
