I've got a question to ask. First of all I'm using a SKIDRAW release of the game. All clean with no mods or stuff like that. I downloaded and extracted iw_22.iwd and iw_23.iwd to gamedir/main/ and ran the launcher. So far so good. Problem is my pc is way too slow to run the details at high and when I try to lower the settings and apply them the game crashes and I get the "couldn't load image preview_mp_compact". Am I doing something wrong?

 

This is how my gamedir/main/ folder looks like after the whole procedure:

Cause you dont extract the iwds. You copy and paste them into main.

Are they supposed to look like archives? If not, why do they have asociation with winrar? Bare in mind, though, I've never used an .iwd file on my pc, thus never set asociation on it.

And by the way I did copy-paste them into main but the same error appears...

I deleted the files and now i'm redownloading them. Will see if this works. Also removed the winrar integration to .zip files.

No luck so far. Gonna do a reinstall of the game, see if that doesn't bring a solution to the table. Anyway thanks for the heads up on the iwds.

Something I found and think would be useful for other people. Especially the "NOTE:" part... link

Winrar can handle them, so it might automatically asociate with the file type.

 

It's just a suggestion though, not sure. Anyway, as said, don't extract them, just copy paste them.

Found the cure. Actually it was somewhere on these forums that someone suggested downloading the iwds with google chrome. That WORKS! Now the files appear like any other .iwd and the game reads them as it should.

When I play the game I always get an error after playing 10 minutes.

A minidump has been written to iw4m-3.0-104-20120814160902.dmp.

Take a look at that. Dont know about the 5 windows, that happens to me from time to time, not often at all though.

Download that .dll you're missing it from your computer. That .dll goes in your System32 no joke.

i got a little problem when i start the game my mouse just works fine,

but when i go ingame i can't use my rightmouse click and i cant shoot!
