basically i have this problem where bullet holes and black explosion marks flicker and look crappy as i move around. See the vid to know what im talking about.

Ive tried the hash method (/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=8457&p=60477) where you verify all files, and no errors were found. Ive tried reinstall my graphics card drivers, and still no results.

Ive tried to reinstall iw4m by running that installiw4m.exe process or whatever, but it didnt work.

 

PC specs:

8gb ddr3 ram

AMD phenom 2 quad core @ 3ghz

MSI gtx 460 768mb

No I am not laggy. The clip was recorded in private match. I see the glitch/error in EVERY server I go to. Regardless of whether the ping is 60 or 200, it occurs.

The reason the clip is low quality is because it was compressed from 2GB to less than 10mb.

My computer can easily handle MW2/IW4M, and my fps (frames per second) doesn't drop below 100fps. Any other possiblities?

But I disabled bullet impact, restarted the game, then re enabled bullet impacts.

Then I joined a game and the glitch was gone.

That was on my old sluggish PC though.

No problems on my desktop (2 years and counting <3)

Happens on my PC and others too as far as I can tell. Not 100% sure why.

Try deleting your /players/config_m2.cfg

 

and try turning bullet impacts on/off

Well I even had it in bo2, so ya know, I doubt it's 4d1 fault

Try deleting the config/try playing on different res. I don't know but it fixed my problem.

It could be or the engine can't figure what it should draw.

Maybe try the recommended video and audio?

Deleting your players\config_m2.cfg will fix the problem, I just had to do that the other day to fix the flashing decals problem. NTA said the problem most is derives from servers setting DVARs that stick to your client's config, these DVARs are most likely custom ones set by mods or something of that sort.

 

He said he may fix this problem by not allowing servers to set DVARs to clients after disconnect.

Update your graphic card driver to the lastest beta one.

They released it yesterday, and it fixes texture flickering.

try with enabling vertical sync

 

if you have hyper-threading (some kind virtual cores per logical core) turn it off (if you can)

*you have 2 real cores and 1 logical one per core... so you will have 4 cores; 2 logical 2 virtual... same as 8 cores: 4 logical 4 virtual cores. this feature making your cores can handle 2 processes at the same time... this sometimes causing weird things...

Deleting the config file fixed it. Thanks so much. This was pissing me off for a while =D
