If they remove the steambypass then all fourdeltaone gonna lose is players. People from alterREV is moved here becuase of steambypass. No one is ready to buy the dead game. so please don't patch the steambypass.

 

I use to play alterrev with my clan and other friends. [ we are about 100-200 , its amw2 community] and we all moved to 4d1 after the bypass. so patching bypass is losing players. Thank you.

Yeah, but you've got to understand, Activision may approach us if we don't patch it. Then again, it's not from the developers. I say keep it like it is, for now.

Since the Steam Check is included in the source code which is available to the public, chances are people are going to find ways around it.

A server ban is different from an aCI ban, which prevents the person from authenticating to the game, let alone prevent him from joining any server.

A server ban only prevents the person from entering your server, and even then, there is tempban time limit.

They will most probably be forum account banned and XUID/IP banned just like on aIW.

The IP-Adress can be changed easily and the XUID is generated client-side.

Thanks to the Steam Web API, it is possible to check for the Ownership of a Steam-Account + bought Mw2 serverside, the Steam-ID would then get bound to ONE 4D1Account.

 

If someone gets banned, he would need to buy a new copy of Mw2.

Does this mean this isn't banning the XUID ( or something concrete that can't be bypassed just by some code), that would just suck as people will just make new accounts. :/

the less everyone actually knows about the aCI, the better... Since you're not planning to cheat, there's no need for you to know how aCI works, is there?
