my assumption for T6 (and note that it hasn't been proven yet seeing as Steam's HTTP CDN also encrypts filenames) is that there are no more IWD files, and rather PC will use the new per-zone StreamPAK (my name for them, might be they're based on strings in earlier titles) files.
when the T6 X360 beta files leaked, I started thinking such - previous console titles (since CoD2) have been using global 'images0.pak' (or similar) files, but T6 started using .ipak files per zone, and audio stream files based on the soundaliases CSV filename.
now, the properly-separated content for T6 on PC (5 GB for only MP; this would imply no SP data at all, which would be impossible with IWDs) is telling me that IWDs are, well, gone.
StreamPAKs are the future. and, well, not a bad future either - more optimized memory usage is one of the main benefits of these, as textures are loaded from disk on demand, rather than all loaded at once during level loading (yes, also loading times. time to load faster than consoles do again!).
